India produces LNG for the first time with Galileo Technologies equipment
Cryobox small-scale LNG technology enables GAIL Limited to supply LNG to both industries and public transport.

In Uttar Pradesh province, India, Galileo Technologies marked a milestone in the country's energy history with the first LNG production for GAIL Limited, a leading gas company. For this operation, already in progress, Cryobox® small-scale LNG units are being used, connected to state gas pipelines. These units condense the capabilities of a large-scale LNG plant into a compact, transportable module, offering Galileo's key technology advantages: modularity, low weight, transport benefits, and ease of installation.
GAIL Limited, a public sector entity belonging to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas of the Government of India, is spearheading this operation to establish and expand small-scale LNG supply chains for industries and public transport across the country.
“We are proud to be pioneers in the first LNG production in India and appreciate Gail’s trust in our technology. This milestone not only represents an exciting challenge, but also gives us the opportunity to extend our portfolio of solutions with significant potential in this region.”
Emilio Weber – International Commercial Director of Galileo Technologies.
“Collaborating with the environment, LNG production will help reduce pollution in India and replace harmful fuels such as diesel or coal with planet-friendly energy” added Emilio Weber.
This pioneering small-scale LNG project not only addresses India's urgent need to reduce emissions by replacing harmful fuels, but also highlights Galileo Technologies' proven capability to rapidly implement distributed liquefaction solutions. As countries prioritize cleaner energy transitions, the successful deployment of Cryobox technology in India sets a powerful precedent, showcasing the critical role of agile and scalable small-scale LNG infrastructure in fostering a more sustainable global energy landscape.
