Vaporizers Plants

The ideal complement to your LNG operations.

Vaporizers Plants

Regasification Plants

At Galileo, we work to offer comprehensive solutions that simplify our clients’ projects. That’s why we developed our own line of steamers that perfectly complement our technologies to meet the needs of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry.

Depending on the characteristics of each project, either environmental or boiler steamers may be chosen.

This is accomplished by incorporating a boiler into the system, which provides a significantly higher amount of energy/heat. They are also used in extremely cold climates, where the ambient temperature is not sufficient for LNG vaporization. These units can be equipped with an LNG pump for high flow and high pressure (HF/HP) applications, known as Frac Tier 4 systems in the exploration and production of unconventional wells. It is important to note that the provision of hot water by the customer is required. Examples of projects: VAGNL009 from Edge, with a flow rate of 2800 Sm3/h, and VAGNL008 from Eneva (Jaguatirica), with a flow rate of 8000 Sm3/h, which includes a cryogenic pump in the skid for the delivery of high-pressure natural gas.

A regasification plant must have, on a standard basis, the following equipment:

  • LNG storage tanks verification (fixed and mobile)
  • LNG Discharge Bays / LNG Transfer Skid
  • Vaporization Skids
  • BOG management modules
  • Pressure regulation and gas supply skids
  • Among others, optional.

LNG vaporization modules must have the following sub-skids:

  • Heat exchanger (hull and tube / ambient, depending on the case)
  • Pampa: central management module (entry and distribution regulation)
  • PBU: Pressure Build Up unit / Modbus, SCADA connection
  • Electrical Resistance: to vaporize remnant LNG (optional)
  • Cryogenic pump: to raise the outlet pressure, as required (optional)
  • Output Meter (optional)
  • Odorizer (optional)

Our skids are designed with a clear purpose: effectively transform LNG, which is in a liquid form, back into its gaseous form. In large-scale projects, these units play a critical role in the “daughters” plants of projects involving both LNG and a Virtual Pipeline, such as Jaguatirica, part of the Eneva project in Brazil.

Two Solutions

These are an essential part of a variety of applications ranging from warm climates to extremely cold conditions and high pressure demands.

Environmental steamers

Also known as platform steamers, these units use a coil system to heat the LNG, taking advantage of the higher ambient temperature. In this process, LNG absorbs energy, heats up and converts to gas. They typically operate at flow rates around 25 MCF/hour.

They consist of two vaporizing candles: one in operation and another one in reserve/recovery process. The maximum operating pressure is 60 barg and is ideal for locations with high temperatures and low flow rates (up to 5000 SM3/H). Examples of successful projects include Methax, Comarsa, Edge, Córdoba Villages and Black Bamboo. We are currently working on the Gasmar project, which includes the largest environmental steamer we have offered so far, with a flow rate of 5000 SM3/H.

Boiler (or Frac) Steamers

These steamers pursue the same goal as environmental steamers, but are used in fracking applications where flow demand is considerably high, reaching four times 25 MCF/hour.
