New LNG Virtual Pipeline™ operated by Galileo Technologies in Argentina
Our proposal of modular and micro-scale solutions for LNG production is presented as a great alternative for the companies’ needs. Within this context, Galileo Technologies has implemented a new Virtual Pipeline™ that supplies LNG to a thermal power plant in the Cuyo region, Argentina.
The liquefaction plant is located in the lands of the company Transportadora de Gas del Norte S.A. (TGN), next to the compression plant “La Mora”. These nine Cryobox are connected to the TGN pipeline, which operates 24 hours seven days a week, and delivers an LNG production of approximately 120 tons per day. This Virtual Pipeline™ supplies the Methax Thermal Power Plant on a continuous basis, which generates 40MW and is located in the town of Luján de Cuyo in the province of Mendoza.
“Our technology allows to liquefy gas directly into the well and transport it in cryogenic isotanks to deliver it according to the demand from the consumers. We are proud to operate in the Cuyo region, in where we know that we are ensuring the electricity needed on a continuous basis with the cutting-edge technology that characterizes us.”
Juan Ojanguren, Vice President of Galileo Energía S.A
Advantages of the Virtual Pipeline™
With cryogenic isotanks, the Virtual Pipeline™ system takes care of transporting energy by route. This way, with micro-scaled LNG solutions, consumers that are not connected to traditional pipeilnes can be reached.
Another advantage, the possibility for the company to transport fuel from and to remote places, also makes it possible to reduce the environmental impact and reduce companies’ operative costs.
