Galileo Technologies and Unigaz Group Partner to Transform LNG Production in Jordan’s Risha Gasfield
This project marks a significant milestone in the region’s energy landscape, leveraging Galileo’s innovative modular LNG technology to transform the way natural gas is harnessed and utilized in the Middle East.

Our technology for LNG production.
Jordan, Middle East – A groundbreaking project in Jordan’s Risha Gasfield is set to revolutionize LNG production, leveraging cutting-edge modular LNG technology to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability in the region. With recoverable reserves of 4.675 trillion cubic feet, Risha Gasfield is Jordan’s only domestic natural gas source and plays a crucial role in achieving the country’s energy self-sufficiency goals by 2030.
Advancing LNG production with strategic partnerships
This initiative brings together industry expertise to introduce a scalable and cost-effective approach to LNG production. A key partner in this project, Unigaz Group, brings its extensive experience in LPG and liquid fuel distribution across the Middle East & Africa, ensuring seamless integration of LNG technology into Jordan’s energy infrastructure.

The project incorporates advanced solutions, including:
- Four Cryobox™ units for small-scale LNG production.
- One ZPTS™ unit for gas treatment.
- A Smart Station Bay for efficient LNG distribution.
- Two amine towers for CO2 and H2S removal.
Additionally, Galileo will provide on-site commissioning services and train Unigaz personnel in plant operation and maintenance, ensuring a smooth transition to LNG production.
Driving sustainability and economic growth
The Risha Gasfield project highlights the viability of small-scale LNG technology in the Middle East, paving the way for scalable, cost-effective, and environmentally sustainable energy solutions. The LNG produced will replace diesel consumption in local industries, offering significant cost savings and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Furthermore, a portion of the LNG will be exported to Lebanon, expanding the project’s regional impact.
A new model for LNG development
By adopting modular and scalable LNG technology, the project unlocks a transformative approach to monetizing stranded gas, flare gas, and pipeline gas that were previously unviable for commercialization. This scalable model addresses geographic and economic challenges, unlocking the potential of underutilized gas resources.
"By enabling industries to transition from diesel to LNG, we’re delivering cleaner, more affordable energy while demonstrating the potential of small-scale LNG in regions with unique logistical and energy challenges."
Gabriel Lorenzi, Commercial VP of Galileo Technologies.
“This project is a turning point for the Middle East’s LNG sector”, he added.
"As a company dedicated to advancing energy solutions in the region, Unigaz is proud to contribute to this landmark LNG project. This initiative strengthens Jordan’s energy security while establishing a replicable model for sustainable fuel production."
Eng. Zaher Zein, Unigaz Group CEO.
